A Celebration of Love: A Valentine's Day Dinner Just for the Two of You

Romantic Dinner for Two Just the two of you. All alone. Celebrate your evening together with a romantic dinner that is simple and easy. You and your partner's love deserve recognition. It deserves to be celebrated. The two of you share so much together and are each other's best friend. Give the special person or girl in your life an evening filled with your heart and soul.

Stressing over your romantic Valentine's Day dinner should not happen. If you are all stressed out and go to a great extent for the perfect gourmet meal then you leave yourself wide open for aggravation and frustration. If your mate comes home to find you in a not so good mood it defeats the entire purpose for making this night a special one. Go easy on yourself and save your energy for more important things, like your mate and your time together. A simple dinner can be just as lovely and without all of the stress as a dinner that is elaborate and time consuming.

Here are some ideas on how to create a simple Valentine's Day meal for the two of you:

The Setting:

Set the mood for your Valentine's Day dinner. Get out your best dinnerware, silverware and glassware. Use your linen tablecloth, cloth napkins and napkin rings. If you own red, white or pink colors in any of these items, use them. Grab a bouquet of fresh flowers at the store for the table. Candles are a must. Attempt to make everything match, but do not stress over it if it does not. Remember, it is the thought that counts the most. As for yourself, shower and put on something nice. Make sure that you look your best for your mate. Again, if you stress yourself, you have defeated the purpose.

The Main Dish:

A nice steak or chicken and broccoli casserole.

Steak: Cooking time is dependent on the size of the steak. For a steak that weighs between 12 ounces and 16 ounces, cooking at 450 degrees for approximately 12 to 15 minutes should be right. The steak should be cooked according to the preference of your mate. You will most likely know what that is. If you do not, ask.

Chicken and Broccoli Casserole:

You will need:

Fresh or frozen broccoli

Four chicken breasts, preferably boneless

One can of cream of chicken soup

Four white potatoes

A dash of salt

A half teaspoon of pepper

Two tablespoons of lemon juice

Cook your chicken until halfway done. Cut the broccoli and the potatoes in bite-sized pieces. Combine the cream of chicken soup, the broccoli, the potatoes and the lemon juice together. Place these in a greased casserole dish that is approximately 2 quarts in size. Lay your partially cooked chicken on top and sprinkle with your seasonings. Cover with a layer of tin foil and bake for 45 minutes to an hour at 350 degrees.

Side Dishes:

A side dish consists usually of a vegetable, something that you both like. A good choice would be corn or winter squash.

Drinks:

Using your best stemware, wet the top edge of the glass and turn it upside down and completely around into some red colored sugar toppings. This looks pretty and gives the drink some added sweetness. You can serve either some chilled sparkling grape juice or red wine.

Dessert:

This should be fun. You can bake it the day before if you feel pressured for time. Make a heart-shaped chocolate or vanilla cake and frost it. Decorate it with heart sprinkles. Your mate will love it.

Remember, your mate will love and appreciate the fact that you cooked a special dinner, but this is not the most important thing to him or her. The most important thing is the celebration of love of your lives together.
