Sedona Getaway - The Perfect Mother's Day Gift

Reader Post: 'Everyone knows that life can get a bit hectic, especially for a working mom. There are meals to cook, bills to pay, and a whole lot more. Last year in particular I was especially tired from a hectic month of work, a lot of sickness in the family, and a break was something I had just been dreaming of.

Mother's Day morning I was awakened by my husband at the unearthly hour of 7am, at least for a Sunday anyway. My one day to sleep in. I got up and jumped in the shower and by the time I got out and dressed, the house was quiet.

I walked out into the living room and there sat four suitcases. I was perplexed. My husband loaded up the suitcases and the kids into the car and simply told me to get in. Now I really had no idea what was going on.

We drove for about two hours and much to my surprise and excitement, we arrived in the beautiful town of Sedona, Arizona, one of the most beautiful places, and one I enjoy visiting. We had lunch at the Cowboy Club, complete with carrot cake, my favorite, and spent the day and the night relaxing in the beautiful town. It was the perfect getaway, and one of the most memorable Mother's Day gifts ever.'
