My First Kiss
by K
I remember the moment of my first kiss as though it were only yesterday.
Oh, yes, I remember...
The gentle summer breeze that carried the delicate scent of the roses from the neighbor's garden next door...
The feeling of electricity that hovered in the air as we looked at each other
The pounding of my heart that beat so fast and so furious that I was sure it could be heard...
For a brief moment in time I was suspended in space, not quite certain that I was ready for the touch of another's lips pressed against mine...
Oh, yes, I remember...
There was a rush of expectation and a feeling that nothing else existed in the world but the two of us for one brief, magical moment. It was sweet and passionate; yet tender and gentle. It was everything that I had hoped and dreamed about, and it was far, far more.
It was the taste of love.
It was my very first kiss.
No matter what my friends said, mere words could never come close to describing the tingling sensation that tiptoed along every square inch of my body when his lips first brushed mine during a silly dare that cost me my pocket change. This was the moment in which I knew there was more to life than hopscotch and roller skates. It was the moment that we all experience, a first love, a first kiss. Oh, yes, I remember...
