Mothers Day Gifts

Reader Post: 'It's always hard to work out what mothers day gifts would be most appreciated. Over the years I've given my mother flowers, chocolates, jewellery, books, CD's, perfumes and scented candles... and I'm sure she appreciated each in its own right.

This year I'm planning on giving my mother intangible mothers day gifts - memories that she can keep close to her heart for a lifetime.

To this end, I've planned a special family reunion as a surprise. All my brothers and sisters (and there are five of us all living in different corners of Australia) are attending the reunion with all our partners and children. Dad's part is to take mum for a walk on the beach in the morning and when she gets back we will all be gathered in her lounge room.

My mother has done so much for us that no mothers day gifts that money can buy can really convey how much love and gratitude we feel towards her. I hope that this will give her a small taste of how special she is to us and that it will be a mothers day that she will never forget!'
