Love Poetry: Whisper in the Wind
by Ryan Griffin
(Red Lion, Pa)
'If we weren't meant to be,
Please know I love you still.
That If I ever left you,
It'd be against my will.
I can't stand for us to part,
Or for you to ever leave,
Even for a moment,
How it makes my heart just grieve.
But as strong as our love is,
I know one day that it might be,
That I'm not meant for this world,
And it's time for me to leave.
Please know I love you darlin,
Even in my death.
I'll whisper it to you,
With my last and dying breath.
I'll wait for you forever,
You were simply a dream come true.
And neither Heaven nor Hell compares
To the way I feel for you.
So whatever may come next,
I'll brave the dangers here,
And weather any storm,
Till I can hold you near.
We are not two souls at all,
But only half of one in each
And it's only when together,
I feel a higher level's reached.
I know you love me darlin,
Please know I feel the same
And if you listen closely to the wind,
You can hear me call your name...'
