Love Poetry: Waiting
by Cynthia Hack
(Crawfordsville, IN, United States)
'This spring is a fragile thing
Like a haunting melody
Our love is a miracle
Sacred in it's purity
Pulsing through my veins
I open my eyes to realize
It has broken my brutal chains
I am waiting patiently for you to return to me
Just like a misted memory
This spring is vernal
Like the flowers growing, breathing, living
Where dreams circle round like eternity
Loving, believing, giving
The river is chasing the sea
And our love is perfect unity
No more mountains between you and I
Or oceans, or sadness, or sky
This spring is innocent
A symbol of our trust that the sun will return to us
The root of hope is still nascent
No time for loss or regret
This spring is our love
We forgive and forget
Time rushes on
This earth has nothing to prove
And so our love is not gone
Only waiting to be saved
By this season's signs manifesting
It still strives to be brave
I dive deeply into the depths of my soul
To find my pearl, my blessing
Your smile, your spirit, your strength is rushing like the tide
This spring is thriving
And I am shining inside
I open my eyes and realize
This sweet reflection of your heart is rushing over me
I am reborn in the perfection of our love crashing down on me'
