Love Poetry: Tree
by Lesley Jayne Ingram
(Hereford, England)
'We found each other
in the middle of life,
you and me.
I was the bird landing in your tree
and you caught, lifting your branches under me,
holding me balanced, and solid, and
safely I snoogled amongst your leaves,
rubbed against your gentle bark,
bite free although a little sharp,
and though you sway and
unsettle me sometimes so I flap and
wobble in the breeze,
you are my tree of life, of
love.
You are my home.'
