Love Poetry: Stolen Love

'I once found a love so sweet
On a dating site we did meet

Alone on Christmas Day were we
Com & have dinner with me, said he!

In the kitchen we'd dance, and cook
He'd hug me and say how pretty I look

Hiking the mount was quite a feat
Hearing the pounding of my heart beat

Quadding we do, a new experience for me
"Good grief I almost hit a tree!"

Up to the lookout & a glorious view!
Wonderful times for me & you

Home & I'd snuggle up behind you there
And stroke your mop of thick gray hair

"Massage my head" you'd say
And I'd lovingly obey...

"Will you sing House of the Rising Sun?"
"Only if you'll sing with me, Hun"

On a winters day a fresh blanket of snow
Strap on the snowshoes, away we'd go

On Valentine's Day we went on up
To PG to eat at the China Cup

Throughout the fun we try to stay strong
Cuz we both know something is terribly wrong

Out on the lake for some fishing we go
I caught the biggest, don't ya know!

Cindy, the grey fox, comes around
to find her treats and bury them in the ground

I've waited for you all of my life
Perhaps someday I'll be your wife

Ah but the end is near my dear
Too many bottles of beer I fear

What's wrong with you - for weeks you're sick
Every night you crash at six

Dozens of spent bottles of vodka I see
Alcoholism stole my love from me.'
