Love Poetry: Star Gazing Memory
by Alan Hoeppner

'Last night as I watched the stars glide on through the night
My mind began to envision a most beautiful sight
A lovely clear night as waves crashed on the beach
You and I sitting alone, just within arms reach
A slight chill in the air blew and made you shiver
I placed my arm around you and you felt me quiver
You knew I was nervous for taking action so bold
Just as I used your shiver, just as you used the cold
With a quick taunt of suprise and then a warm smile
You leaned up against me and we held each other awhile
I slowly carressed your hair with my cheek, you accepted it with grace
You saw the fear of rejection as i brushed back the hair from your face
But your smile greeted me tenderly and allowed me to be strong
two bodies, hearts, and souls were joined that night as the stars in the sky looked on
As my vision slowly ended, I gazed up at the stars and stared
I wondered if it was just a dream...
Or a memory shared'
