Love Poetry: Oh! The Duality Of Love
by Vincent Pardi
(Macomb, Michigan, USA)
'Love you monster, you angel
Why do i long to grasp the stones that burn so hot?
You turn strangers to lovers, and then to nightmares
You are the reason i wake up in the morning and your stress evokes dangerous smiles and thoughts of sleeping forever
Unrequieted my love you are without a doubt the worst
My Beelzebub, my lord of flies, i am a host feeding you the rotten meats from my heart, and i'm left for the carnivors and the scavengers, a shell of my former self. Defenseless and pathetic.
Feelings of inferiority crush my chest like an anaconda
You criss cross my body like stars in the sky
Because thats what you are, visible ,but unatainable
Even in the midst of such ugliness, i suffer for the sole purpose of you, because there is no other for me, keep the movie stars keep the actress's.
I may never be able to touch that star and the sky, and she may likley be my plague forever, i cannot forget why i fell for her and what makes her so precious.'
