Love Poetry: My Love For You
by Nellissa Samasstasa Debora
(Jakarta Selatan, DKI Jakarta, Indonesia)
'My love for you
Shall I pour down every word
In this writing
Attempting to be poetry.
Every word of it
My mind can think of.
For no words
Suffice how great
The love I have for you.
And no words paint you
With such perfection
God has molded you.
Yet this can I tell you
That my love for you
Is eternal.
Even as time stops,
It shall go on pouring
Like rain in a storm.
My love for you
Is immense.
Vaster than the seven seas
Of Earth.
Larger than the lands
Of all the planets combined.
My love for you
Is pure.
As pure as distilled water,
Deprived of its minerals.
Clearer than uncut diamond,
Its filth
The running river has washed away.
My love for you
Is for you only.
No other can have it
No other shall I give it to.
This love of mine,
I swear, is exclusively yours.
For you are special.
The greatest,
And perhaps only,
Wonder in my life.
You are the only perfection
I have found
In my seemingly long journey.
You are as divine
As heaven can ever craft.
The most divine being in my life.
You…I won't forget you,
Even as old age decays my memories.
You are unforgettable,
Nothing dramatic do you need
To make you so.
Because you, being yourself,
Leave a permanent impression
On everyone's mind.
You are absolutely one of a kind.
And this scribbling
I have been trying to make as a poem,
I dedicate it to you.
It's not even half as magnificent as you,
But hopefully it is good enough.'
