Love Poetry: My Diminish
by Ivette Morales
(Sacramento, CA)
'Every night I dream of the day that I will see you again. I think about the words that will come out of my mouth. I can feel the pain that will pierce my heart when I will look into your eyes. I can hear your voice once again, and the words that will tear me apart and put me back together again. I can feel the longing in my heart and my body to be with you, to feel your skin on mine once again. I dream of this every night wishing that it will come true. Waiting for the day that you will make me whole once more. But a dream is a dream, and you will never come home again. So I lay here with a torn heart and a broken soul. And nothing can mend the damage that you have done. That simple knowledge is what kills me even more. It is a slow and painful diminish. And I will cease to exist once and for all, taking my love for you to my grave. You will be my destruction, you will be the end of me.'
