Love Poetry: My Crazy Diamond
by Kyle Jones
(Henderson, NV)
'I am magnetized by the Hurricane
whose winds can never promise
to take me home again.
So shine on, you Crazy Diamond.
May you cut and burn every finger betrothed.
In the pitch black, prove yourself
as the rock I've known all along.
With Cerebral catacombs collapsing,
still we push through the clouds with our last engine.
Armed with the cunning of a Bible salesman,
dressed up like doves with hearts like serpents.
I shine with you, My Crazy Diamond.
And only you, My Crazy Diamond.
We held our breathes til we turned sky blue
Falling from the stars we broke our ankles in the name of Love
Oh lord I'll only preach the code when it's asked of me
and I'm not coming home til her armies cross the seas.
And I've searched everywhere,
haunted by her scent.
Don't care where I'll go,
Don't know where I've been.
I can feel your highways running through my fingertips,
with every crashing car like ocean waves under my skin.
Is this Love
or
is this just Inertia?
Oh my crazy Diamond, don't go forgetting where you came from.'
