Love Poetry: Melt away
by Erin Immerfall
(Duluth, MN, USA)
'You and I melt away
among the butterfly tears
and warriors in pink
we vanish
before the stares
of disapproving eyes
Your arms hold me together
as I melt
were it not for that
I would just fall apart
like a bar of chocolate
left in the sun
But as I melt
my life ebbs away
my essence, my faith
vanish into a deeper place
your hands pull them back
by a thread
Your lips breath life back
into me
they breathe my soul back
and put me back together
you and I melt away
and reappear'
