Love Poetry: Let me hold you tonight

'Let tonight be the night that I hold you,
who knows what tomorrow may bring?
Let tonight be the night that I shower my love on you
and change your low, gloomy winter mood to spring.

How can I show you the love I have for you in my heart
when you still long for the one who hurt you in the past?
How can i show you that i might be 'the one'
when the chances that you give me to prove myself is zero to none?

Let tonight be the night that i may kiss you, with all the passion and love that i got,
Who knows how much happiness it can bring in your life, if only you gave me that shot?
Oh my love! how can i change your mind, and let you see my pure and innocent feelings for you?
When all you ever do, is avoid me and making my heart's color change from red to blue!

Only if I held you tonight, I promise it would ignite,
All those feelings of love you keep aside and hide,
I promise I would never break your trust and fight,
I would just hold your hand and move you from darkness to the light!'
