Love Poetry: Fairytale
by Dwana Finelli
(Florida)
There wouldn't be this cat and mouse
that sometimes takes place inside a house,
that used to be a sanctuary
now so cold and empty it feels like a mortuary.
There wouldn't be all these tangled webs
that catch every wrong word we've ever said,
and just bump into one of those dark corners
and oh my friend you might be in for a horror.
There wouldn't be this angry silence
that to any emotion is pure violence.
There'd be moonlit walks
and rainy day talks
feet digging into snow white sand,
listening to our favorite band.
There'd be no question you couldn't ever ask
listening would never be a task.
We'd forgive each other
and respect the same,
we'd never call each other names.
We'd never fight
or curse and yell,
we'd only love in my fairytale.'
