Love Poetry: Don't dream of perfection. You'll never reach it.
by Katrina
(Milton, Ontario, Canada)
'Your hand, clenching mine
and mine, clenching yours
So Sweet.
I see your face
lit up, alive
A smile so rare that
I must stare and stare
to keep it there.
Time at a still
Life is simple,
Beautiful,
Wonderful,
Oh so wonderful!
I musn't blink,
I must not blink
to Live
I see us wrapped in the feeling.
The fleecy texture, so warm
Nothing in between us
Nothing beside us
nor behind or in front,
Just the stars above,
Just the ground beneath.
Together, Alone,
Careful not to move
Not an inch, nor half an inch
a quarter or, a half of a quarter
to remain in this perfect moment,
forever.
Why you're just so perfect for me
And, I'm just so perfect for you;
Why everything is just perfect
Don't wake up,
It'll last longer...
I opened my eyes,
to wake up to
two imperfect beings
sharing love, imperfectly
Content to have found
each other,
seeking no other.
Why everything's just so imperfect
I need not sleep
to love you with this imperfect heart,
Love you truly, imperfectly.'
