Love Poetry: Agents of Change/Love Your World
by Charlotte Cohen
(London, United Kingdom)
'Agents of change,
We gonna be,
Lets create a new age between you and me,
Where only kindness exists in the dictionary,
Standing together we'll write history.
And it's no mystery,
Don't need no PhD
To spread love and fight the misery...
'Cos love travels beyond a postcode,
Invests itself in the hearts of the people,
And in them it grows;
It's in our veins, did y'all know?
From Africa,
To Antarctica and Australia,
To North America to South America,
To Europe and Asia;
Put your hands up,
And say you'll fight,
For the children of the world,
That can't sleep at night;
'Cos they be dyin' inside,
So forget what's wrong and do what's right.
Y'all know education can nourish people with,
The strength to knock down walls?
Surrender their arms,
Build hospitals and schools,
To feed the hungry,
And empower the poor,
Build friendships between leaders,
Say ''peace out'' to war.
Never again will we abandon,
A nation at its knees,
Whether populated by three billion,
Or populated by three,
Forget cosmetics,
Your Gucci and your Prada,
Sayin 'it won't kill to buy another',
But children are dying and you doing nada,
With your fast cars and fake furs,
I feel it for you brother'
Protect the earth,
Fight for rebirth,
Y'all wave your banners,
As we crowd surf.
It's regeneration,
Out with discrimination,
Screw political lies,
And eternal damnation.
So forget the land that stands between,
Quit the talk, and intervene;
With humanity in our hearts,
And passion in our stride,
In solidarity we can march,
Side by side'
