Breakfast in Bed for Mom on Mothers Day

Reader Post: 'As a child, I always remember wanting to make Mother's Day special for mom. After all, she did so much for us. Even though my brother and I were quite young, we decided that this one Mother's Day had to be a special one.

To be truthful, we weren't the greatest of cooks at age 9 and 6, but we were determined that mom was going to get a special breakfast in bed. Usually it was mom getting up early to cook breakfast, so we got up at 6am to make sure we were up before she way.

We cooked up a meal of pancakes and sausage for mom and served it up on a plate, reserving some for dad too. He would be hungry too of course. Grant it, the pancakes were a bit dry and the sausage a bit burned, but mom ate it like it was the best meal ever.

It is one of my own favorite memories and my mom mentions that time almost every Mother's Day. While the food may not have been that great, our hearts were huge and full of love and appreciation for mom.'
