A Mothers Day Surprise

Reader Post: 'In our family we've always been big on mothers day surprises. One year when both my brother and I were in college, we wanted to do something superspecial for our mom for that Mothers Day. It had been since Christmas since we had even seen her and she really was missing both of us. Although we were still in classes at this point, we thought that since Mother's Day always falls on Sunday, we could make a quick trip to make it special for her.

We called up our dad and clued him in on our big mothers day surprise and asked him to keep it a secret. At 12am on Mother's Day morning, we left college and made the 7 hour trip back to Virginia to surprise her. After driving all night, we pulled into the driveway at about 7am, and they were still asleep. Having the key to the house, we crept in quietly and then knocked on the bedroom door. The look on her face was priceless and worth the entire night of no sleep. We got to celebrate Mother's Day with her and then hopped in the car that night to trek back to college for classes. As far as mom is concerned, that was one of the best gifts we ever got her.'
