I'm sitting here in bed today in our luscious private villa in fabulous Bali. It's first light, and I'm writing this love note from my heart to yours.
I just enjoyed a heart-opening meditation, boiled the kettle, and poured myself a cup of tea. I'm being entertained by a chorus of birds and breathing in the aroma of lotus incense. And I'm delighted. I feel so utterly connected. And I wish this sweetness for you too!
So this is the start of our annual Bali Bliss retreat and the third time we're hosting it in Ubud... and it has me thinking about moments where the ENERGY of a person, a place, a situation was imprinted on my soul.
A person: Nurdi, our happy Balinese cook at the villa, who enfolds us every year with her brilliant smile and humble beauty and luscious traditional meals.
A place: Canggu, with its heavy heat and black-sand beaches and multi-colored surfboards and smells of street food and happy vibes. I was sad to leave it.
A situation: Karen and I, late last night, resting our tired feet in the little private pool at our villa, sharing laughter and tears and stories and memories.
I could bang on here about all the things we can do to tune into energy; to balance and clear and heal. The chakra healing, the color therapy, the meditations and breathwork, gemstones and sound healing and mudras and essential oils. I could do that. All of these magnificent tools we use in energy healing, you know? But maybe that's for next time.
Instead, I want to tell you how energy work changes us on a soul level. This is a different conversation. It goes beyond things to apply, things to do, necessarily. It's going into the energetics of the moment, remembering that actually, everything is energy anyway, and sometimes it's the simplest pleasures that serve to balance and heal us deep down. So if you can come from a place of that consciousness, that deep awareness, then perhaps you have a chance of creating harmony in your body and life as you go through your days.
Bali is magnificent, but you don't need to be in Bali, or anywhere in particular for that matter, to tune into the ENERGY of gratitude, or counting your blessings, or noticing how much love you have in your life.
Yes, I'm loving Bali... and I commit to counting my blessings every minute of every day while I'm here. But I also set the intention to take this energy with me when I return home next week.
Blessed and grateful,
*ps. Can you think of a few fabulous moments that were imprinted on your soul? What were they? Can you tune into that energy right now? Grab your journal and see what pours forth. You might just be surprised at how much it brightens your day. xo
